Read for the Rockland Record

Haverstraw Elementary School has finished in 2nd place in the Read for the Rockland Record reading challenge, sponsored by Scholastic Book Fairs.  Haverstraw Elementary completed the challenge with an overall school total of 93,985 minutes and an average of 790 minutes read per participant.  Genry Lopez, a fifth grade student, was the top school reader with 5400 minutes.  The school was awarded 600 Scholastic Dollars for their accomplishment.

 Welcome to the NRCSD 2015 Summer Reading Website. Below you will find all the resources you will need to understand and complete the requirements for Summer Reading. 

Each student entering Grades 1-6 are required  to read ONE fiction, biography, or non-fiction text at his or her reading level; however, NRCSD encourages all students to read a s much as possible over the summer.

Click on the links below to find Suggested Reading Lists and Reading Logs in English and Spanish for each grade.

This year's theme is "Every Hero Has A Story"
